Arts Spaces Taking Shape
The arts learning spaces in Sitar Next Door are taking shape! This photo is taken from a corner of the future Flex Theater and Community Space. This central room will serve as a black-box theater for a variety of performances, with portable seating and modular stage options, and as a community space for student assemblies, workshops and rehearsals, and community events.
Construction is progressing apace at 1724 Kalorama Rd NW. The utility work under the street is completed, the concrete slab is finished, and masonry partitions are done. On the upper floors, wood trusses and steel framing are installed. The ground floor windows and building roof are coming soon.
