Micropiles being installed at Sitar Next Door construction site

Construction is up and running at 1724 Kalorama Rd NW! In mid-October, the site passed its pull test, assessing the strength and durability of the foundation. Now, the crew is installing steel reinforcements known as micropiles inside the building to make it even stronger. 

 

Next up, utility work begins, bringing us one step closer to Sitar Next Door. The completed building will increase our footprint by 50%, enable Sitar to expand our flagship arts education programs for DC youth, and initiate ArtsAdvance, our new career training program for young adults.
